Strategic partnership will focus on expanding U.S.-Asia hemp trade, manufacturing opportunities and international market development.

The National Industrial Hemp Council of America (NIHC) and the Asia International Hemp Federation (AIHF) have announced a strategic co-host partnership for the Asia International Hemp Forum 2026, scheduled for November 18 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand.

The forum is part of the Asia International Hemp Expo & Forum (AIHEF), taking place November 18–20, and will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, manufacturers and investors to examine opportunities across the global hemp economy.

The partnership is intended to strengthen commercial ties between the United States and Asia, with an emphasis on international trade, investment, technology transfer and market development.

Connecting Hemp Markets Across Borders

Asia plays a major role in global textile production, manufacturing and agricultural processing. As industrial hemp markets develop throughout the region, opportunities are emerging for American producers, processors and technology providers to establish new commercial relationships.

For U.S. businesses, those opportunities could include exporting hemp fiber, grain ingredients and other raw materials, as well as working with Asian manufacturers on finished products and industrial applications.

The relationship also offers Asian companies greater access to American agricultural production, research, processing technologies and potential investment partners.

Both organizations are looking to encourage business relationships that extend beyond conference discussions and lead to practical commercial opportunities.

Trade, Manufacturing and Regulatory Challenges

The November 18 forum will address a range of issues affecting hemp’s growth as an agricultural and industrial commodity.

Topics will include international supply chains, fiber and textile manufacturing, advanced materials, cannabinoid applications, sustainable production, research and technology, and investment opportunities.

Regulatory policy, product standards, certification and market access will also be part of the discussions.

These are significant issues for an industry that continues to face inconsistent regulations, limited processing infrastructure and challenges connecting agricultural production with established manufacturing markets.

While interest in hemp continues to expand internationally, building dependable supply chains and securing long-term buyers remain essential to commercial growth.

The NIHC-AIHF collaboration provides another avenue for businesses and industry organizations to address these challenges through direct engagement with international partners.

Bangkok Hosts International Hemp Industry Gathering

The Asia International Hemp Expo & Forum has established itself as a gathering for hemp businesses, industry associations and government representatives from across Asia and other international markets.

The 2026 event will feature three days of exhibitions, networking and industry programming, with the NIHC-AIHF strategic co-hosted forum taking place on opening day.

Additional details on speakers, participating organizations and forum sessions are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

For both organizations, the Bangkok partnership represents an opportunity to strengthen industry relationships and help develop the trade channels needed to support a more established global hemp marketplace.
