FDA, DEA May ‘Lack the Resources’ to Enforce New Federal Hemp Product Ban
The federal government’s upcoming prohibition on intoxicating hemp products may not work, according to congressional researchers who cast a shadow of doubt over enforcement mechanisms. The nonpartisan Congressional Research Service (CRS) issued a report Dec. 3 covering implications for federal enforcement related to Congress passing a provision in last month’s budget deal that changes the federal definition of hemp.
